Aquilla Occupational Therapy Services is a private practice that was established in 1990 located in the heart of Toronto.  We service children, young adults and their families at our clinic, in home, in schools and in the community.We are proud to support children with a variety of diagnoses in our practice. 

 

Children from 0-18 years are seen for assessment, consultation, education, and treatment.  Childhood is a time of significant growth and development. Challenges affecting development can have a significant impact on the child’s ability to complete daily activities at home, school or on the playground. AOTS is a family driven practice.  We value and invite the input of the child and the family into the plan for treatment.  We build the therapy around the needs of your child and your family.

Therapeutic Assistants

We are pleased to offer you Occupational Therapy treatment sessions at a reduced rate!

Our therapeutic assistants have a wide range of experience working with children and families in a therapeutic setting and have completed their Masters degree in Occupational Therapy outside of Canada. They are now in the process of become registered occupational therapists in Canada and would love to work with your little one under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist.

Our therapeutic assistants are educated in many areas of children's development and have been trained in the treatment modalities used at Aquilla Occupational Therapy Services.

Our team has training and experience in the following:

  • Osteopathic Manual Therapy

  • Sensory Processing Disorder: Assessment & treatment

  • Wilbarger Brushing Protocol

  • Sequential Oral Sensory Feeding approach

  • Therapeutic Listening

  • The Astronaut Program

  • Handwriting Without Tears

  • Neuro Developmental Therapy

  • Vision Exercises

  • Brain Gym

  • Ball-A-Vis-X

  • Loops and Other Groups: Cursive writing program

Therapy Assistant Sessions

  • Intake interview, assessment, and treatment plan will be completed by a registered Occupational Therapist at the clinic, and these sessions will be billed at the regular Occupational Therapy rate of $150/hour

  • Treatment sessions led by our therapy assistants are $75/hour

  • Treatment sessions with therapy assistants are not covered by insurance, which makes this a great option for families who do not have coverage for Occupational Therapy

  • We also offer online handwriting sessions with our therapy assistants, billed at the same rate of $75/hour
